The Kind Wife is the acting debut of the female lead Park Min-kyeong, who has only appeared in one other film, while the supporting actress Lee Ja-eun has a more impressive career. The film revolves around a married couple Tae-joon (Lee Sang-hoon) and Seo-hyeon (Park Min-kyeong), who give up their city life and start over in a quiet countryside. Tae-joon is still learning how to farm and hasn’t had a decent harvest in the past few years. He feels stressed and blames the land. Seo-hyeon suggests opening a “sharing house” to ease his pressure. They invite a new family to their home to “share”, and that family is Hwai (Lee Ja-eun). She is a novelist who writes about her experiences with another man. She previously had an affair with Tae-joon. Although she resents him, she still loves him and cannot forget him, which is why she decided to come all the way here. She takes over the house that used to be Tae-joon and Seo-hyeon’s private space. Hwai puts pressure on Tae-joon and provokes him by seducing Jae-rim (Kim Seon-hyeok), Seo-hyeon’s carpentry teacher. Hwai stirs up Seo-hyeon’s life and tries to make Tae-joon hers, while Seo-hyeon struggles to protect her house and family.
